Responsibility sits so hard on my shoulder. Like a good wine, I’m better...
– Lou Reed
Yesterday: no glitter, all doom
hughbot:
I went to Best Buy and they were out of Tom Waits’ Glitter and Doom Live. Then I went to Target and they aren’t even carrying it. Target, what’s wrong with you? So I’m probably going to have to resort to iTunes.
Barnes and Noble!
Things I am thankful for:
- The Steinway grand piano in my mother’s living room.
- Not the fact that the temperature is in the twenties outside.
- Boots.
- Chuck Klosterman’s IV; I don’t care that they sell his books in Urban Outfitters, I’m still going to unabashedly read him.
- The unnecessarily gigantic plasma television in my mother’s house, for making my eyesight poorer and furthering...
Records, Seattle, Cincinnati, Nostalgia...
Every time I listen to Lou Reed’s Coney Island Baby, it reminds me of climbing into my car at two in the morning and driving down to the Des Moines Pier in Seattle to think. But only after first driving down Highway 99 over the viaduct into downtown for a late night meal at Dick’s Drive-In. I was so isolated in Seattle, and though at times it was depressing, it was mostly strangely...
If your Thanksgiving turkey gets up and starts...
and you’d like it to stop, call it a “jive turkey”.
Things I will be doing this Thanksgiving break.*
*Well, everyone else’s break at least. I am not in school and I don’t work, so I don’t have any sort of break.
1. Going to Highlands (a cafe/bar/coffeehouse) a lot.
2. Spending time with all of my friends (most everybody’ll be in town).
3. Maybe playing a show. This is yet to be determined.
4. Calling eggnog “smeg-nog”.
5. Calling Thanksgiving turkey...
A few months ago a good friend of mine and I were talking about writing (more specifically, songwriting) and he asked me what I did when I was in a serious relationship or in love with a girl; he wanted to know if I continued to write with the same frequency, if I still wrote any sad songs, or if I just stopped altogether. I told him I continued to write, just less, and that the only noticeable...

vicpav:
DOES SHE MEAN COWBOY BOOTS? I assumed she mean like sneakers, converse or vans or something, but I have been corrected. I was born and raised in San Diego, I’ve never been anywhere remotely near “the south”, so I have no idea what she means. oh, miley.
I’ve never heard anyone in the south ever call them “kicks”.
Every once in a while,
a wave of drowsy optimism washes over me. Optimism is a bad way to describe it. It’s more like dull contentment. Opaque faith in whatever the future holds. Being comfortable with not knowing what the future has in store. I’ve been feeling like this more and more often lately, and I think it’s a good thing. I’m not typically one to throw my hands up and relinquish myself to...
twitter
My Twitter makes absolutely no sense. I don’t know how the hell I’m supposed to use it. I suppose there isn’t a proper way to use it. By the way, I keep getting followers who are following like 1000+ people but have no following themselves — who the hell are these mystery people?
Everything sounds better on the radio.
I refuse to accept that the people who have never wasted a second of their lives...

IF YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT, THEN I LOVE YOU.
If you are mocking me, then hrmph.
I AM NOT MOCKING YOU! PART OF THE REASON I DON’T WATCH X-FILES ANYMORE IS BECAUSE IT’S PAINFUL TO WATCH THEM NOT FUCK AT LEAST EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE!
I mean seriously, two attractive people in the 90s running around doing...

Hello
Looking at my calender it seems that there is a little under two months until I leave for India. I have no idea where the time leading up to this date went, but I’m starting to get very nervous, excited, and just ready for this amazing trip!
With all the stuff I need to do coming up in order to get ready for the trip (finish shots, apply for my visa, negotiate work I’ll be...
