I’m moving to Seattle. I may have to go back to High School for one semester to get into the Running Start program. That could be interesting.
It actually got me thinking, though. I have hated all forms of school my entire life. There was only one exception, and that was Highline High School—the school I attended in Seattle. Not only did my report card look like this:
A 104.35%
A 97.35%
A 102.33% and so on, and so forth,
but I didn’t hate it. It was manageable. I didn’t feel an overwhelming urge to gouge out my own eyes and run like a chicken with it’s head cut off back out the door the second I stepped in. Getting up early sucked, but only for the first half hour after waking up. Going to bed early didn’t suck, because I just didn’t go to bed early. Homework didn’t suck because it gave me something to do in a town where I didn’t have any friends or anything to do. My teachers were pretty much all really like grad students.
I don’t quite know where I’m going with this. All I know is that I can handle another semester of high school, just fine.
My friend Lech and I are driving out there. He’s going to apply everywhere once we get there, and if he gets a job within one week, move out too. The drive will most likely be a fun time, as it IS across the U.S.
I just can’t wait to have all this shit off my back.
