So, I got a job at Nintendo. No, I’m not designing video games or anything sweet like that—I’m working in their gigantic warehouse. I’m surprised how much I like it. I actually really like it. It’s a great catch, too, it pays twelve dollars an hour, and soon I’ll be working about 54 hour weeks. So, that’s 648 dollars a week, or about 2,592 dollars a month.
What do I do, tumblr? I’ll tell you. I work on the assembly line. I put together things, unpack things, pick things, pull things, package things, open things, turn things, and LIFT a lot of things. It’s the swing shift, so my hours are about 3:50 pm - 2:40 am.
It’s so much different from working at pizzeria, or in a clothing store. It’s so much better. When I got off at Hollister, I would think “Wow, that sucked”, but when I get off here, every muscle in my body aches, I feel an incredibly amount of relief, and, for some strange reason, pride. I’m proud of myself. I’m proud of myself for working so much, working so hard (I bust my ass even though I don’t have to—I’ve never done that at a job before), and just proud-proud. It’s weird. And, I know I’m saving money. The people are great too. Everyone is really nice, funny, and eccentric.
I really don’t know what else to say, but I’m happy. It’s so good to finally be doing something.
