Colin Weaver - When Will We Get What We Want?
Here’s a super rough (with lots of mistakes) demo I did last night in the middle of the night. I’m excited for this song, so I want to wait until I have more studio time to record it. I’m going to add bass guitar, rhythm electric guitar, drums, and maybe some noise and feedback. And maybe a guitar freakout in the weird bridge thing if I can conjure one. I’m also going to add another chorus towards the end. Here are the lyrics:
John sits at the table
hoping for the answers
hoping for the answers
to come
he says “how can one remain stable?
anxiety disorder
ignoring doctor’s orders
with nowhere to run”
there’s no such thing as love
for those of who don’t
stop dreaming of
the heavenly above
we don’t push we don’t shove
to get what we want
when will we get what we want
we don’t get what we want
when will we get what we want?
(here’s where the guitar freakout would take place)
we all sit at the table
debating all the answers
killing off the cancer
of unrequited love
he says “give me their fortune
I’ll work to get a handle
the hammer and the anvil—
nothing’s too much”
(here’s where the second chorus would go, and I don’t know what else… I might add more lyrics)
